Kia Produces its First Superheroine Inspired Vehicle with the Help of Wonder Woman

Adding to its fleet of superhero inspired models, Kia recently unveiled the Wonder Woman 2013 Kia Sportage at the New York International Auto Show. As it joined six other models like the Batman Optima, Green Lantern Soul, and Superman Optima Hybrid, this is the first time Kia has drawn inspiration from a superheroine. We're excited to uncover the details for all of you in the greater Cleveland area.

Beginning with its patriotic color theme, the Wonder Woman Kia Sportage glows bright with red, white and blue exterior paint colors. You have to look closely at all the fine details to catch a glimpse of its spangled star side paneling, and bold WW logo enhanced grille. The design is completed with a gold "Lasso of Truth" that wraps around the vehicle. Kia strategically chose the design and the model to embody Wonder Woman and what she represented.

"As one of the most well-known Super Heroes in the world, Wonder Woman portrays an impressive balance of power, agility and confidence, all of which are inherent characteristics of the Kia Sportage crossover," explains Michael Sprague, executive vice president, marketing & communications, KMA. "Like the rest of the Justice League-inspired vehicles, this customized Sportage signifies a meaningful collaboration between cars and pop-culture."1

These vehicles were developed as a part of the partnership between Kia Motors America and DC Entertainment. The main goal is for the fleet to generate awareness for the "We Can Be Heroes" campaign that raises money for people affected by Hunger in Africa. As for the eighth and final vehicle to complete the lineup, Kia plans to produce a design that represents all seven of the superheroes on one model.
