Kia Makes Navigation Easier by Adding the Google Maps Feature

This year Kia is bringing the convenience of navigation to a whole new level. That's right, here at Kia of Cleveland we are excited to bring you the latest details regarding the new innovations. To provide all of you in the greater Cleveland more luxury for your vehicle, Kia is adding several Google features to its UVO infotainment systems.

To explain this technology further, the head of the connected car program and chief technology strategist for Kia Motors, Henry Bzeih explains, "The newest iteration of the UVO platform is a breakthrough as one of the industry's first mobile pure app-based telematics systems, and now with the Google solutions and APIs, we take the platform to yet another level of enhancement for the Kia customer. Due to the popularity and ease-of-use of Google Maps, owners can remain confident in the technology and information being delivered to them."1

Some of the key services that the UVO system will provide include Parking Minder, a function that locates a driver's car by sending the correct location of the vehicle to their mobile device. Another exciting feature is My POI, which utilizes Bluetooth wireless technology to send a specific destination from Google Maps to their UVO eServices Kia model. And finally in terms of safety, the 911 Connect8 features will alert emergency services immediately after an airbag is deployed, unless the driver decides to cancel the call.

These are just a few of the features that will be introduced in the 2014 Kia lineup. More specifically, customers can look for them in future Kia Sorento and Forte models.
