Does Kia Have A Convertible in the Works?

Well, we don't really know yet. One of the best things about the internet is its ability to spread fresh news across the globe. Perhaps blurring the line a bit between news and rumors is this recent nugget we came across: it looks like Kia might be developing a convertible edition of the Pro_cee'd GT.

The cee'd family of Kias is a European only series, but Top Gear fans may recognize it as their "Reasonably Priced Car". We only mention it because a very slick-looking sketch of a convertible Pro_cee'd GT popped up on a Kia fansite recently which has all of us at Kia of Cleveland reasonably excited.

While you can't draw too many concrete conclusions from one solitary image, the move would make quite a bit of sense to us. The South Korean automaker has been expanding its offerings pretty aggressively lately. Having just introduced the Cadenza, Kia is also looking to bring another luxury model to the US in the near future, the Quoris.

The Quoris will push Kia's upscale image even further with an estimated MSRP somewhere in the range of $50,000-$70,000. With all this luxury and refinement, wouldn't a flashy convertible almost have to happen?

Maybe that's pushing a bit too far, but we would still love to have one here at 2492 South Lee Hwy Cleveland, TN 37311. For the time being, we'll have to be satisfied with the lone image. However, if we hear any news about the prospective model, or any other new Kia for that matter, we'll be sure to fill you in right here on our blog.
